March Meeting - Tomah-Warrens Sportsman Alliance
Board members present:  Carl Johnson, Mike Borchers, Curt Gibeaut., Jim Murphy, and Paul Gasser
Board members absent: Marty Neas.
Old business:
·        Carl Johnson read minutes from the February meeting.  Jim Murphy made a motion to approve the minutes. This action was seconded by Curt Gibeaut.
·        Carl Johnson read the budget, including recent expenses, deposits and balance in each account.
·        The March 28th Euchre Tournament is a go. Marty Neas will run the tournament.
New business
·        Bill Rezin presented to the Board a list of near by neighbors that are not in favor of the Sportsman Alliance building a rifle range.  He indicated that residents are concerned about the noise and safety if a range were to be built.  The Board listened to Mr. Rezin’s concerns and indicated to him that no decisions have been made about the building of a rifle range and that a great deal of research would need to be completed before any action would be taken.
·        It was announced the Alan Potter and Paul Salzwedel have chosen to leave the Board. Other Board members that will be leaving the Board will be Steve Gebhardt and Jim Murphy.
·        Maryln Kemnitz will be taking Jim Murphy’s position as Treasurer.
·        Carl provided update on the July 11th Scheels shoot.  He indicated that Scheels is not offering to provide money for advertising this year on the radio. Scheels did agree to cover the expense for an ad in the WBH Spring Magazine. Discussion then took place regarding ideas about how to best to advertise and promote.
·        Discussion took place about the upcoming National Turkey Federation Banquet on March 21st regarding who will be working at the banquet and the amount of soda and water that will be needed to be purchased.
·        Dates were reviewed regarding upcoming 3D shoots.
·        Fisherman’s Night Out was discussed by Rob Fink.  He announced that most all of the tickets have been sold.
·        Laverne Nelson mention the water conditioning unit was hooked up and working at know expense to the club. We thank Laverne for his contribution. In return for the services of Brian & Mike Nelson along with Dale Trowbridge, a membership will be given to each one for hooking up the water conditioner.
·        Laverne requested two 220 outlets be installed for cooking with a hot oil fryer. The club would have to cover the expense for material used to install the outlets.  The board agreed to install one outlet and that would be place at the end of the retaining wall outside. Bob Amundson and his helper will do the installing. A membership will be given to both for there services installing the outlet.
·        Mike Borchers discuss an upcoming skeet shoot with another club. The idea was to have members from both clubs shoot each range on different weekends. They are working out what weekends would work best for the clubs.
·        Discussion took place on renting out the clubhouse. We decided to look at what other clubs have for paperwork, cost and who is responsible for what when renting out their building.
