               Tomah-Warrens Sportsman’s Alliance Board of Directors Meeting

                                                              January 11th, 2010

 

Board Members Present: Carl Johnson, Brian Pedersen, Marlyn Kemnitz, Paul Gasser, Mike Borchers

Board Members Absent: Marty Neas

Members present: LaVern Nelson, Adam Gasser, Brett Mittelstaedt.

Secretary Report: Brian Peterson read the secretaries report. Mike Borchers made a motion to accept as read, motion second by Marlyn Kemnitz.

Treasurer Report: Marlyn Kemnitz, read the treasurer report.  Mike Borchers made a motion to accept as read, motion second by Brian Pederson and motion carried.

New business: 

·         Discussion was held regarding the cost of membership.  It was suggested that we raise the cost of membership $5.00  for both a single membership and family membership.  It was decided that this will be brought up for more discussion and a vote during our annual meeting on February 8th this year. Within this discussion we entertained the option of putting the property in various forest management. Brian Peterson will make contact with Monroe County Forest Agent. This discussion came up as a result concerns regarding our annual budget.

 

·         Discussion was held regarding the indoor archery season next year. Carl Johnson suggested that we start in January and concluded the season mid-April. Carl Johnson made a  motion and Mike Borchers seconded this. We also discussed the option of allowing individuals to cut fire wood on the grounds.  During this discussion we explored the idea of allowing only “down trees”, they will need to provide proof of insurance, and sign a liability waiver to cut on the land.  We will discuss this further at our annual meeting in March.  It was also decided to contact the Tomah Boys and Girls Club to participate in the month of February.  Paul Gasser will make contact with Tomah Boys and Girls Club.

·         We discussed making a donation to Andy Buck after he lost house in a fire.  Carl Johnson made a motion to provide him $100.00 and was seconded by Marlyn Kemnitz.

·         Paul Gasser will contact the Tomah paper and request that Steve Rudio write an article about this archery season and upcoming Tomah Boys and Girls Club shoot in February.

·         Discussion was held regarding spring clean up. We discussed the option of inviting the Badger Challenge to assist in the clean up.  It was decided that we will table this suggestion until our March meeting.

·          February 8th  will be the annual meeting.  At the annual meeting we will acknowledge Jim Murphy as the 2008 and Bob Whaley and his family as member of the year for 2009.

·         Vern Nelson and Mike Borchers have discussed with other clubs about starting a Monday evening traveling trap shot league.

·         Adam Gasser thanked the Club for the scholarship that he received.
